Lunch Huddles in Elementary Schools

God Is on the Move in Our Public Schools!

FCA Fellowship of Christian Athletes is expanding,
introducing huddles in elementary schools for
all children, not just athletes.

Help Your Kids Find Christian Friends

Picture

A huddle will help your child find friends who share their God-given identity and Christian values. These friendships can provide a foundation of support and help your child stay grounded in the faith and resist any unbiblical influences.

Christian Huddles/groups bring love, faith, and joy into schools by creating a supportive environment for students to explore and develop their faith. Huddles focus on building relationships, developing character, and learning about the teachings of Jesus Christ.

FCA Huddles

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) hosts huddles in over 7,000 schools across the United States. These huddles are no longer exclusive to athletes--everyone is welcome! In elementary schools, they are fully non-athletic Christian huddles.
Meetings take place during non-instructional times, such as before or after school or even during lunch.

The following organizations support Christian clubs and huddles:
  • Department of Education
  • ACLU
  • Supreme Court
  • PTA
In an interview, Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona shared:
“If it weren’t for my faith, I would not be here.”
(Religion News Service, Dec. 21, 2022)

Schools are still welcoming Christian huddles, so let’s make the most of this opportunity—especially now that FCA is starting huddles in elementary schools and helping to open doors with its reputable name.

What? Kids gather around the lunch table with other Christian students to build friendships and engage in conversations about God or listen to inspiring faith-based stories shared by a mom or huddle leader.
We provide parents with the necessary information to sign their child up.
When? Huddles usually take place once a week during the 20-30 minute lunch break, running for 6-8 weeks each semester.
They can be themed, such as:
  • "Mighty Monday Huddles"
  • "Fun Friday Huddles"
  • "Tuesday Huddles" (or any other weekday that works best)
Where? Kids meet at a designated lunch table or classroom, bringing their lunch from home or the cafeteria to the assigned area.
Parents are welcome to drop in or stay during the huddle. Participation is free, and we’re also seeking parent volunteers for those interested in helping out.

Moms, Will You Join Us? 😊

Are you a Christian mom looking for a meaningful way to connect with your child at school and help them build friendships with other Christian kids? Consider coming to school once a week to share lunch with your child and a small group of Christian students. During this time, you’ll lead a brief devotional, guiding them in their faith.

This commitment is simple:
✔ Just 6 to 8 weeks in the fall and spring
✔ Spend 30 minutes once a week during their lunch break
✔ We will send out sign-up information to parents and take care of the logistics
✔ We provide guidance for you and secure approval from the principal together
✔ You’ll receive a roster with the names of the participating kids

This is a special opportunity to strengthen your bond with your child and support them and their friends on their Christian journey.
Many grandmas, youth leaders, and pastors play a key role in leading huddles. Some also organize them as after-school clubs, with separate huddles for
K-2nd grade students and 3rd-5th grade students

Empowering Your Kids

School can be a challenging environment, but a supportive group of friends with shared values can make it easier to handle.
Kids will enjoy a caring environment where they can:
✅ Learn about God’s love
✅ Discover their true identity
✅ Understand how wonderfully they are made

✨ Want to Go Deeper?

FCA Lunch  Huddles are a beautiful starting point—but what if your child had the chance to build Christian friendships that go even deeper after school?
That’s where our After-School Faith-Based Huddles/Clubs come in.
These clubs are fully approved and legal, and they give students a safe space to explore their faith, build character, and find like-minded friends—all while having fun right after school.

🛡️ Helping Your Child Stand Strong in Public School

We know public schools can feel like tricky territory for Christian families. From confusing messages to peer pressure, it’s easy for kids to feel isolated or unsure of their values. That’s why Christian friendships matter so much—especially early on.
An after-school club:
  • Gives your child a place to belong
  • Encourages godly character and confidence
  • Surrounds them with peers who share their values
  • Builds lifelong spiritual foundations

🏫 Yes, Bible Clubs Are Allowed in Elementary Schools

Children have the right to be part of voluntary, faith-based clubs—as long as they happen outside instructional time and with parental permission.
How it works:
  • Clubs meet once a week for 6 weeks in fall and spring
  • They happen on school grounds, right after the bell
  • A parent or community volunteer leads the group
  • Schools approve a flyer, and parents sign up their child
  • Kids enjoy stories, games, music, snacks, and prayer
Some schools even include them as part of their enrichment programs!

🧃 What a Club Looks Like

Simple + Fun + Purposeful
  • Welcome & Character Trait of the Day
  • Music or Movement
  • Bible Story with Life Application
  • Small Group or Partner Time
  • Game, Craft, or Snack
  • Closing Prayer & Dismissal

💡 You Can Start One!

It only takes one caring adult to make it happen—maybe that’s you?
We’ll walk you through every step and provide resources, lesson plans, and flyers. Thousands of elementary schools already have faith-based clubs… why not yours?
